Job Description
Railway Project Engineer
HV Switchgear and SCADA projects.
Contract
Rate - £290 to £320 per day limited.
Location - North Yorkshire.
Duration - 6 months.
Project Engineer required to ensure that appropriate engineering standards are used in relation to design and construction Electrical Distribution and Fixed Plant projects.
Current projects are large distribution and control biased works involving the following:-
Review of HV switchgear designs
Management, review and co-ordination of construction and commissioning activities for HV Switchgear and SCADA, Protection and control schemes.
Experience of multi-disciplinary enhancement schemes.
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills for this position.
Relevant experience in Electrical Distribution and Fixed Plant design.
Qualified to HNC / HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
Quality assurance experience.
Working knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management).
Decision making skills.
Communication skills, able to effective communicate with people at all levels.
Able to work effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities include
Implement company systems and procedures to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to projects.
Liaise with stakeholders as required by the project.
Monitor specific projects managed ensuring they are engineered to the standards and specification.
Managing all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Monitor Electrical Distribution, Fixed Plant design, specialist consultants and contractors, providing project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.
Manage elements of relevant projects to meet the requirements of current legislation, including construction design management regulations.
Arrange an audit of contractors will be required to monitor safety, environment and quality of design, construction and testing.
